Everything I loved from the previous two books carries over to this one yet we start to get glimpses that Rebecca is beginning to grow up just a little bit I love that this series isn't just fluff; there are real family dynamics and important topics discussed yet cleverly so It's still funny and the artwork is still impeccable I completely recommend this series to everyone This entry gives us the wonderful characters of Rebecca's Grandparents and their hometown which were presented with a tremendous amount of love and care Here's a little sample of the insideview spoiler hide spoiler

Rebecca is a vivacious 6½ year old girl whose best friend happens to be a germ named Ernest He’s not only Rebecca’s best friend he’s also her partner in mischief adventure companion and confidant In this third volume of the award winning series Rebecca and her older s. I had to switch to the English translation 'cause the Italian publisher dropped this series Fricking publisher that's the second series I've started that they droppedI kind of like this one better than the previous two Maybe because Ernest doesn't play a big role in this The story revolved about Rebecca and her life in the country with her grandpa who can see Ernest as wellI still love the colors and the drawings thoughI'd like the say something about the US edition if I may At the end of the book there is a short note from the editor He explain that they decided to reduce the size of this book because it was perceived as a kids comics So in order to increase its attraction for an older audience they made it a bit smaller In addition the editor also explained that this very comics was set in France and it offered a couple of examples of this But in the translation there's a panel in which Grandpa pays in dollar There was so uncalled forI know it's called domestication and it's the idea that foreign products should be adapted to the culture of arrival in order to be less foreign for it But really It's just a currency Do Americans really dislike reading about people who pay in Euro And why do you write in the afterword that they are in France if he pays in dollarSigh I'll probably get The Land of the Walking Stones as well Always in English

Ernest Rebecca Tome 3 Pépé BestioleIster Coralie are sent to spend the summer in the countryside with their grandparents away from their mother and father without Ernest Lost and scared without her friend Rebecca misses her parents experiences nightmares and misbehaves in order to deal with her anxieties Things. ERNEST REBECCA #3 GRANDPA BUG is the third volume in the series of graphic novels aimed at children about a six year old girl named Rebecca and her best friend a germ named Ernest In this volume Rebecca and her sister Coralie are sent to their grandparent’s house Their mother believes the country air will do Rebecca’s health good Rebecca’s grandpa is called Grandpa Bug the origins of the name are revealed in the story and he spends a great amount of time doing things with Rebecca However while at her grandparent’s house Ernest disappears and Rebecca is saddened at his disappearance and attempts to find him Along the way Rebecca meets a trio of friends led by a kid named Chris Also Coralie attempts to figure out if her boyfriend Freddy is interested in her anyAlthough there were parts of the story that I found trite overall I enjoyed ERNEST REBECCA #3 GRANDPA BUG Other than Rebecca’s bright pink hair and Coralie’s vivid purple hair the illustrations remind me of cartoons from the mid 1980s that I used to watch as a youngster on television such as THE LITTLES It’s a style that you don’t see very much in animation any let alone in illustrated works If all the books in the series are like this they could easily be turned into an animated series The book has a strong appeal for young girls but also for any child whose parents are in the midst of a divorce
