EMERY ☆ Loneliness suffocates the heart Acceptance breaks down wallsAs a Lost Girl to the Forsaken Motorcycle Club Nicole Whelan knows how to party She’s not cut out for relationships and her life is way too complicated for anything than casual encounters But one night whenOrThe violence and turmoil are at an all time high and Forsaken is in a vulnerable place when a twist of fate breathes new life into the club It’s a much needed beacon of hope for the embattled biker family even if everyone’s not exactly on board With Duke and Nic’s relationship already on shaky ground and something even important at stake the Forsaken Motorcycle Club will fight like hell to keep their family together and wholeLove is never precious than when it’s n I have to say this is a huge step up from Ride and I really liked Ride This was just so much better My review is going to ramble but there are so many thoughts about this book on why it's different and why I enjoyed it so much The main FC Nicole is different than most main characters written She's a Lost Girls aka club whore who becomes an Old Lady Loving this We get to see the ramifications of being a Lost Girl on her outside lifewith her brother etc She feels inadeuate and unworthy of other women not lumped in her group category But yet Nicole is also strong and unforgiving and doesn't roll over And these latter attributes aren't often written about with a female character in a biker book Duke is also fantastic I love a male character who is a jerk but a good jerk Who chooses the right decisions in the end which is; being good to the girl And just wanting to take care of her But we watch him go through his own struggles of being a man whore but wanting to be the better man The timeline overlaps with Ride I think this is difficult to do normally it just feels odd and doesn't work for me Often it's almost like a rewrite of the previous book and these new characters are just talked about that last one makes me mad It's a new book for goodness sake But how this is written is great JC Emery is explaining parts of the last book from a different perspective from Nicole and Duke's perspective mostly the latter Giving the 'club' perspective in Alex I loved it She did a fantastic job writing all the characters and storyline I hope there are to come in the series
