The Highlanders Folly Loch Moigh #3E to return to her time Hunter who is pledged to another begins to fall for the beautiful brave warrior as they fight side by side against a common enemy Now he must decide which matters his honor or following his heartExciting battles and intoxicating passion reunite in the third Novel of Loch Moigh from award winning author Barbara Longley. A fierce Highlander from the fifteenth century a faerie’s plot and a modern day time traveling maiden What’s not to love in that combinationRead on for my thoughts on The Highlander’s Folly No true spoilers promiseThis is the third novel in this series and I was a bit concerned because I have not read the others Sometimes you can jump into a series anywhere and others not so easy There were enough comments about previous stories in the early chapters that I could read Hunter and Meghan’s story without feeling I had jumped into the ending While not a stand alone in my opinion it didn't feel like I was lostWhen a Highlander knight crosses paths with a modern day martial arts instructor – well sparks are going to fly Then add into the mix that Meghan is totally unsurprised by the notion of time travel and you add another level to the storyI enjoyed the richness of details of the times conditions and how life is lived day by day I’m not so sure that Meghan did though It is a major adjustment from taking part in medieval tournaments for fun and actually living them in a life and death situationHunter is a man of his times arrogant most of the time sure that his way is the right way honorable to a fault Even though he has fae blood running through his veins he is none too pleased to have been tricked by Giselle into bringing Meghan back in time to her pastIt was fun deciphering the two languages used Hunter’s local brogue with its meaning and Meghan’s modern day conversation that often baffled Hunter Overall this was a charming sexy enjoyable tale Time travel is always a fascination and the author handled this aspect of the story extremely wellThe only part of this novel I took a bit of exception to was Hunter’s honor where it came into play where Sky and Meghan were involved He knew his intentions toward Sky from the start he had considered himself betrothed to her from the moment of her birth Yet he didn't mention this to Meghan even when he was having conflicting emotions about her He was falling for the maiden from the future but he didn't tell her that he was spoken for That bothered me – perhaps it is simply true to the nature of the “medieval beast” but it put his honor into uestion in my mind Again in my opinion perhaps you will see his actions differentlyI enjoyed this novel very much – enough to go searching for the earlier novels in this particular series That in itself says it was a very good read for meI would recommend this one It was face paced action packed and a passionate love story with a satisfying conclusion

The Highlanders Folly (Loch Moigh, #3) Characters · 100 Û A brave fifteenth century Highlander fiercely devoted to his foster family Hunter of clan MacKintosh can defeat any man in battle Thanks to his fae gifts he can read the intent of his opponents and guess their next moves But when the faerie Madame Giselle sends Hunter A brave fifteenth century Highlander fiercely devoted to his foster family Hunter of clan MacKintosh can defeat any man in battle Thanks to his fae gifts he can read the intent of his opponents and guess their next moves But when the faerie Madame Giselle sends Hunter to the present day he stumbles into a staged battle and rescues a young kn. spoilersMy ThoughtsI liked the second book in this series but unfortunately this did not live up to the excitement I had about reading a time traveling highlander romanceSo we already know from the blurb that Hunter is pledged to another woman and I wasn't too worried about that in the beginning because it was barely mentioned but that changed at the 40% mark because that is when the love triangle starts I didn't like that Hunter never told Meghan about Sky He was just leading her on which was cruel in my eyes because she was falling for himI was also beyond frustrated and annoyed with Hunter and his stupid sense of honor He is determined to marry Sky And how is he gonna kiss Meghan and then ask for Sky's hand in marriage I'm glad Sky turned out to be a sweet girl who does not want to marry Hunter because she only sees him as a brother they're foster siblings But does that stop him from changing his mind Noooo He is even determined to woo her and marry her All the while Meghan is watching from the sidelines seething with jealousy which he does not see I'm also glad she wasn't the only one jealous Hunter's friend shows an interest in Meghan and Hunter has the audacity to be jealous over thatAt one point Hunter is trying to change Sky's mind again but she still rejects him and two minutes later he is sucking face with Meghan That's disrespectful to both women After all this I was just turned off and couldn't connect with the story any I absolutely hate love triangles and this was one in my eyes even though Sky made her intentions clear from the beginning Hunter was torn between two women and could not make up his damn mind Hunter wasn't a terrible guy but he had some stupid ideas about love weakening a man and whatnotOne aspect I liked from this story was that Meghan was a mixed martial artist and a badass fighter I only wish she could've been strong in demanding respect from Hunter as well But I cannot see how these highland warriors would so easily accept training from a woman And we never even got a resolution about Meghan's parents They have no idea if she's safe or not This is paranormal That could've been possible ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Ight only to discover that the knight is a woman and she’s anything but a damsel in distressMeghan McGladrey learned martial arts and sword fighting from her father a time traveling Highlander himself To Hunter’s surprise Meghan is as skilled as any knight When both of them are pulled back to the fifteenth century Meghan becomes desperat. 35 starsIt's been a while since I read a time travel romance This was pretty good The heroine Meghan is hurtled back into the past There was no weeping and pitching a fit and not understanding what was going on because Meghan's father was transported to the future so she knows all about time travel Meghan is brought to the past by our hero Hunter who is coerced into saving Meghan by his fae granddam AineHunter had to be the most obstinate hero I've read in a long while He realizes he has feelings for her and continues to ignore them right up until the very end Everyone sees that he loves Meghan but he keeps denying it Meghan was a great heroine for Hunter though She knew he loved her and she admitted she loved him but she was strong and brave and accepting that she would not change his mind I wouldn't have accepted his decision as easily as she did Thankfully he came to his senses and they got their happily ever after ARC received from the publisher via Netgalley
