And how will she guard her heart when the man she's had a secret crush on for years won't leave her side Once I got over my initial frustration of the similarities of the family of law enforcement to the tv show ‘Blue Bloods’ I really enjoyed this story Fast pace lots of suspense with twists and turns and a great introduction to interesting characters What do you want in a good law enforcement story? Great start to a new series Lynette Eason is definitely becoming a reliable favourite of mine I give 5 stars to Callie Beaulieu for an excellent engaging audio performance Recommended to all those who like Christian suspense fiction

Police officer Isabelle St John loves her crazy loud law enforcement family With three brothers and two sisters she's never without someone to hang out with or fight with And she knows they'll be there for her when things get tough Like when her partner is murdered and sh As much as I enjoyed the “Elite Guardians” series by Eason this one is even better The family dynamics seem like a wonderful cross between the O’Malley books and the Blue Bloods tv show All six St John kids went into some form of public service from law enforcement and FBI to a surgeon I loved watching the family dynamics play out and I’m hoping we have a story for all six of the kidsIsabelle and Ryan are a great couple with a nice bit of romance and trust that’s written exactly how I love to read romance Their relationship is clean and based on years of friendship and it’s plain to see their chemistry even without all those touchy feely details I really hate readingThere are a ton of secrets All sorts of things going on that have to be figured out I loved the challenge of trying to figure out whohowwhy of the bad guys involved in this one And were they ever bad guys Highly recommended Content a grotesue gunshot wound mentionedThanks for NetGalley for a free copy for review

Oath of HonorE barely escapes with her own lifeDetermined to discover exactly what happened Izzy's investigation sends her headfirst into a criminal organization possibly with cops on the payroll including someone from her own family With her dead partner's handsome homicide detective 25 out of 5 stars I did enjoy this story though not anywhere near as much as I thought I would So I’ll start out with the positives I enjoyed the storyline for the most part It was hard to figure out and there were a lot of different things going on which left for a wild ride I enjoyed the characters the sibling element and the family dynamic I appreciated the idea of an entire family committed to making the world a better place all in their own way but still as a family unit There was a lot to be honored in such a family It did keep me interested for the most part and I enjoyed a clean romance without all of the heat and tingly feelings of what seems to be the norm these days This kind of romance was way my speed a lifelong friendship that slowly turns into something I commend Miss Eason for such a story My issues with the story lie mainly with the style and the way it was written There was a LOT of head hopping And not in a good way Some writers can get away with it but this author seemed to have no rhyme or reason to it It was almost as if the scene breaks were in the wrong place half the time and the other half it was just straight up POV error It made the reading of this book very confusing and I had a hard time keeping up And while the story was so multifaceted that it was interesting I felt like it was TOO busy There was so much going on that I couldn’t keep it all straight and the amount of threads became very overwhelming and somewhat unbelievable in the way that everything connected There was also very little character depth I still don’t know a whole lot about the family or even the main characters personalities To be honest a lot of the characters felt personality less Half to three uarters of the way through the book and I still was having a hard time knowing who was one of Izzy’s siblings who was a friend etc It just felt really weird And shallow to an extent There was little to no character depth for a lot of these people and the emotions were just missing for some scenes Which worked out okay because I know that is this author’s style and it did make for a uick read but to be honest I wasn’t really that into it I guess the style of this book just wasn’t really my cup of tea I still enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend it if you love suspense with a slight romance It was a good story but not one I feel like I would want to read again Content Advisory There was mentions of being held hostage various gun violence bombs etc What you would expect from a modern suspense There was also a scene where part of someone’s view spoiler face is nearly blown off The results are a bit gruesome view spoiler hide spoiler
